Future Focus International
Desired Results of the Engagement:
An intense, fiercely interactive 3-day action session.
- The process will review / renew an existing strategy – every organisation has a strategy however inexplicit it may be – in the context of prevailing and anticipated market conditions you will create an explicit future intent prescribing resource deployment by management for returns which will meet shareholder expectations.
- This Process has been used buy new owners and a newly appointed CEO to gain a better understanding of prevailing dynamics and competence. Comprehension of silo dynamics, roles, responsibilities, management and delegation styles can be revealed.
- Participants in the engagement respond anonymously to challenging questions about the business condition and its marketplace following an introductory briefing. Once the responses are collated, unedited, the workbook is distributed to the respondents at a three-day action session. Their task is to deliberate the responses and compose the deliverables described below.
- The ‘deliverables’ most crucially contain a statement of intent – the future business profile – of what value the organisation will deliver to the marketplace with clear definitions for the pursuit of:
-Current and Future products or services
-Current and Future customers
-Current and Future market categories or segments
-Current and Future geographic markets
Also described are characteristics which will favourably differentiate the business within the chosen future profile. Resources must be deployed to create superior performance in the profile described.
- The remaining period of the engagement is focused on the action plans necessary to realise the ambitions already defined. This includes a macro description of Issues (Initiatives, Opportunities, Threats), Obstacles and Roadblocks to be navigated including Timelines, Objectives, Responsibilities – leaders and teams, and macro steps to achieve the position agreed.
- All are the result of an earnest and vigorous organisational intellect debating and decision-making based the institutional memory, skills, expertise, knowledge and business acumen of the incumbents.
